Friends & Fellowship
Posted by stephanie on September 29th, 2007
It’s been a week and we made progress. We had one small scare with a fever on Sunday but based on my symptoms it sounded like a bladder infection. They called in antibiotics and all has been well. I had lunch with my IT bunch and Heather at Macaroni Grill. It was a blast seeing everyone and the fellowship was just as grand. I played Bunko for the 1st time in my life with a group of baseball moms. It was a tons of fun. I was the biggest looser and came back home with even money.
Today I walked a 5K with a team of inspiring ladies. The team is called Survivors Tri-Hardest. The team is made of survivors that like to exercise and enjoy great fellowship. The 5K benefited the DFW chapter of National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. We walked in honor of Shawna and Cleta. The team is actively training for a mini triathlon through the YMCA. I had signed up to do the triathlon but have had several hurdles throughout training. My diagnosis of bone cancer sealed the deal and will prevent me from participating; instead I will be the team photographer and capture the big event Oct 7th.
It is the friends and Christan fellowship that strengthens me. I am thankful for each and everyone of you! Grace and Peace to each of you. - Stephanie

God is great! It would be great for the ICU Dr. whom you fired to know all that you’ve accomplished since he was ready to think of you as a lost cause 2 weeks ago. You are in my prayers daily. Susan

Stephanie,
I don’t know if you will remember me, but I am the oldest daughter of Carl & Tory Smith. Mom has kept me up on you, and I wanted you to know that my love and prayers are with you in this fight. And I pray every night for your healing.
I love this website and will be checking on it daily for your progress.
God Bless you,
Love

I want to say that we from Survivors Tri Hardest have been privileged to have Stephanie join us for any event she can make it too. Not many people have their own official photographer at these event! She has to put all that fancy equipment to good use!
I met Stephanie and her sweet mom at the Center where I work and I am an 8 year survivor also. She always inspires me with her enthusiasm and tenacity, plus she has a great sense of humor and loves Starbucks like I do!
